Alfa-Bank Announces Appointment of Alexey Marey as CEO
OREANDA-NEWS. May 18, 2012. Alfa-Bank announces the appointment of Alexey Marey as Chief Executive Officer and Member of its Board of Directors. Rushan Khvesyuk who has been holding senior executive posts at Alfa-Bank for many years, is appointed Chef Executive Officer of Alfa Banking Group. Mr. Khvesyuk will continue to be involved in strategic management of the Bank as a member of the Board of Directors, reported the press-centre of Alfa-Bank.
These changes, of which the market participants along with the Bank’s staff were made aware early in the last autumn, are being brought about according to the plan. The appointment of a new Chief Executive is intended to spur the business development of the Bank and to further strengthen its position as the largest privately-owned bank in Russia, which showed a record profit for the year 2011.
Mr. Marey, in his new role as Chief Executive, will be responsible for the implementation of the Bank’s long-term strategy, determine priorities in business development and oversee the operations in all of the Bank’s core and supporting units.
These decisions are in line with the employment policy of Alfa Banking Group ensuring that its senior staff can utilize a wide range of opportunities for their further professional and career growth within the Group.
Alfa Banking Group’s Chief Executive Rushan Khvesyuk will take responsibilities for overseeing business development, improving the quality of management and streamlining the process of banks integration into the Banking Group.
Mikhail Fridman, Chairman of Supervisory Board of the Alfa-Group Consortium and Member of the Alfa-Bank Board of Directors, said:

Rushan Khvesyuk, Chief Executive Officer at Alfa Banking Group, Member of the Board of Directors, joined Alfa-Bank in 1994. since that time and until 2005 has held a position of Head of the Legal Department. In 2002 has been appointed as Head of the Executive Board. From August, 31 2011 til May 2012 Mr. Khvesyuk has been Chief Executive Officer of Alfa-Bank, Member of the Executive Board.
Rushan Khvesyuk graduated from Moscow State Academy of Law. Russian magazine Career named Rushan Khvesyuk one of the 50 best Russian corporate lawyers in 2001.
Alexey Marey, Chief Executive Officer, Member of the Board of Directors, Member of the Executive Board, joined Alfa-Bank in 2004. He previously worked as Vice President, Director of Retail Sales and Customer Relations.
Alexey Marey is responsible for elaboration and implementation of the Bank’s retail business and sales strategic development in Moscow and in the regions, and for the quality of customer service in banking.
In 1999 — 2004, he worked at Danone as a business development manager and regional sales manager responsible for development of distribution and strategic development of sales.
In 1998-1999, he worked at Gillette International (Moscow) as a territorial sales manager, and as a logistics manager at Duracell Batteries N. V. in 1996-1998.
Alexey Marey graduated from Moscow Aviation Institutes’ Economics Department in 1999.
