OREANDA-NEWS.  May 17, 2012. Ukio bankas changes conditions for credit payment card services – they become yet more favourable for clients. Ukio bankas reduces the minimum turnover amount upon reaching of which each client of the bank is entitled to fee-free annual handling of the credit card, reported the press-centre of Ukio bankas.

“We aim to encourage our clients to yet more actively use payment cards for purchases of goods and services and arranging other financial matters. Through the improvement of card service conditions we will provide a larger share of Ukio bankas clients with the possibility of receiving a fee-free annual service of the card,” Jurate Kajackiene, Director of Ukio bankas Payment Cards Department, said.

Pursuant to the new payment card service conditions, Visa Classic or MasterCard Standard cardholders wishing to receive freefee-free annual card service should perform card transactions for LTL 9 thousand or LTL 750 per month during the first year of card validity. Previously, this amount totalled LTL 12 thousand. The conditions of service were respectively improved not only for private but also for corporate clients.

In the words of J. Kajackiene, Ukio bankas offers particularly good conditions for MasterCard Gold cardholders – the share of the turnover on which the annual card handling fee is not applied was reduced in half. From now on clients will receive a free-of-charge annual card service upon performing transactions for a mere LTL 13 thousand instead of the previously applied amount of LTL 26 thousand per year.

The share of credit cards issued by Ukio bankas accounts for more than 15 per cent of the total amount of payment cards issued by the bank. In 2011, a turnover in these cards reached LTL 160 million, and in the first quarter of 2012 – LTL 41.6 million.

Ukio bankas is Lithuania’s first commercial bank providing reliable services via its own wide client service network, with nearly 60 units all over the country, for the third decade already. Furthermore, Ukio bankas payment cards are accepted at 266 ATMs of the joint network and 33 post-offices of Lithuania.
