OREANDA-NEWS. May 17, 2012. Representatives of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) took part in a meeting organized by a member of the Collegium – the Minister for Competition and Antimonopoly Regulation of the Eurasian Economic Commission, Mr. Nurlan Aldabergenov, on the issues of influence of technical regulation on production and sales of alcohol products and related industries, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

Attendees included a member of the Collegium – the Minister for Technical Regulation of the Eurasian Economic Commission, Mr. Valery Koreshkov, representatives of the Eurasian Economic Commission, representatives of the brewing industry.

The discussions focused on the provisions of the Technical Regulations of the Customs Union on safety of alcohol products concerning prohibition of producing beer in plastic packaging, prohibition of reusing glass packaging, definition of brewing products, and an introduction of notifications about launching sales of products.

Industry representatives discussed provisions of the Regulations that can adversely affect economic indicators of development of various industries and agriculture, investment climate and competitive environment.

Participants emphasized importance of establishing consulting and expert platforms at the Eurasian Economic Commission for drafting and improving normative legal acts, including industry Regulations and Standards, involving business-communities of the countries of the Customs Union.
