OREANDA-NEWS. May 16, 2012. The first hydropower unit of a new power plant ‑Sao Joao HPP ‑ has been put into operation in Brazil. Power Machines have manufactured and supplied generators for this project. 

A contract to supply two generators each having a capacity of 39.69 MW was concluded in 2008. The contracting authority of the plant's construction project is Eletrosul SA. At present Power Machines specialists are carrying out works on the installation of the second hydropower unit, the launch of which is tentatively scheduled for Q3 this year.

Moreover, since 2011 to 2012 Power Machines have produced and supplied spare parts kits for the two generators, which were previously built in accordance with the terms of supplementary agreements signed with Eletrosul SA in September last year, to Sao Joao HPP.
