RUSAL Nominated New Independent Non-Executive Director

UC RUSAL (SEHK: 486, Euronext: RUSAL/RUAL, MICEX-RTS: RUALR), the world’s largest aluminium producer, announces the decision of the Company’s Board of Directors to nominate Matthias Warnig for election to RUSAL’s Board of Directors as an independent non-executive director at the Annual General Shareholders Meeting on 15 June 2012.
Matthias Warnig has significant public company experience having served on the Board of several international companies with particular focus on development and implementation of corporate governance strategies. He has an excellent knowledge of Russian and international business and an in-depth understanding of financial, energy and commodity industries. The nomination of Matthias Warnig as an independent non-executive director, is further step in RUSAL’s stated aim of promoting corporate governance excellence. RUSAL is planning to increase the number of independent non-executive directors in the Board up to one third in accordance with the new rules of HKSE.

In 1990-2006 he was involved with the financial activities of Dresdner Bank Group in Frankfurt am Main, St. Petersburg and Moscow (he held the positions of President, Chairman of the Board and Chief Coordinator of Dresdner Bank Group AG in the Russian Federation).
