OREANDA-NEWS. May 14, 2012. By Order #04Q Agriculture Minister Ismet Abasov of Azerbaijan approved the Rules of certification of seed farms and maintenance of their registry.

Under the Rules, the certifying commission of 5 people is being formed by the Ministry of Agriculture and certificate is given as a result of certification. The Commission conducts certification, defines the type of farms. Certification is carried out within 15 days.

At that, farms on  cereal crops must have at least 50 hectares of cropland, cotton- at least 15 hectares, grape, fruits and tea- at least 1 hectare, vegetable- at least 5 hectares. The land should be rented or used for at least 3 years. At that at least 16% of land should be out of crop for at least 3 years. The farms should have their own warehouses and asphalted grounds.

To pass the certification it is needed to provide information on activities for 2 years. Appeals  may be made in writing and electronic form. Certification is conducted every 3 years.
