OREANDA-NEWS. May 14, 2012. The presentation ceremony “New legislative acts on improvement of investment environment in Uzbekistan and prospects of investment cooperation” took place at InternationalBusinessCenter of Tashkent. This wide-ranging event attended by representatives of business and diplomatic circles, as well as foreign and joint ventures, operated in Uzbekistan. 

During the presentation was noted, that favorable investment environment formed in our country within the years of independence and national legislature created large system of guarantees, privileges and preferences for foreign investors and enterprises with foreign investments.   

The proof of increasing interest and trust of foreign investors on reliability of Uzbek economy and prospects of its development is the fact that over 4.2 thousand enterprises with foreign investments are operating on country’s key industries now. Foreign investments worth more than 3 billion USD drawn per year and most of them are direct investments, to share of which fall over 26.6% of total investment.   

In addition to that, as it was noted on recent Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On follow-up measures for promotion foreign direct investment attraction”, ongoing world financial and economic crisis, toughening of competition in the world and regional markets requires to take additional arrangements, aimed to create more favorable investment environment, promote attraction of foreign investments to implement projects on modernization, technical and technological re-equipment of production.   

Introduction of amendment and addenda to legislature according to requests of Presidential Decree “On follow-up measures for promotion foreign direct investment attraction” will contribute to further enhancement of system of guarantees and privileges for foreign investors and enterprises with foreign investments, as well as promote flow of foreign investments and state-of-the-art technology.      

The presentation ceremony “New legislative acts on improvement of investment environment in Uzbekistan and prospects of investment cooperation” profoundly briefed the representatives of foreign businesses and international organizations operating in Uzbekistan with those guarantees, benefits and preferences for investors that are created in our country.

The participants of event became familiar with new opportunities for investment offered by the Free Industrial Economic Zone "Navoi" and the Special Industrial Zone "Angren", with the prospects of attracting foreign direct investment  to small business and entrepreneurship in the regions.
