OREANDA-NEWS. May 12, 2012. The inauguration of the "Kins Trip" Service-Learning of Hong Kong Young Students in Rural Rreas Program (hereinafter the "Program") was successfully launched at Hong Kong Polytechnic University, reported the press-centre of ABC.

This public welfare program is sponsored by Agricultural Bank of China Limited (ABC) and jointly initiated by Hong Kong Polytechnic University and the Youchange China Social Entrepreneur Foundation. Nearly 100 leaders and representatives attended the ceremony, including those from the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in Hong Kong S.A.R., the Social Welfare Department under the Government of Hong Kong S.A.R, Hong Kong Polytechnic University, the Youchange China Social Entrepreneur Foundation and ABC.
The Program is part of the "Help You Grow" –Excellent College Students Program, a series public welfare projects in which ABC puts great efforts in 2012.

The activity provides opportunities for Hong Kong young people to engage in service learning in Chinese mainland. In this program, ABC supports 200 students from Hong Kong Polytechnic University to involve in field study, social survey, services and behavior research in Inner Mongolia, Sichuan, Chongqing and Yunnan. It encourages college students to explore and develop their initiatives to serve the society and combine social practice with in-class learning. Moreover, it also promotes Hong Kong young students' understanding about the Chinese mainland and dedication to the society.

Mr. Patrick Nip Tak-kuen, Director of Social Welfare Department, said in his address that this meaningful program helped develop students' sense of responsibility and promote exchanges and cooperation between young people in Hong Kong and the Chinese mainland. Angelina Yuen Tsang Woon-ki, Vice President of Hong Kong Polytechnic University, said that her university paid much attention to creating opportunities for students to practice their knowledge in the society. She hoped that students' services could help economic and social development in rural areas. She also expressed hopes to strengthen cooperation with ABC on the effective implementation of the program.

The support of ABC to the Program proves its fulfillment of corporate social responsibility and an active attempt at in-depth Sannong (agriculture, rural areas and farmers) services. ABC will continue to support a series of public welfare activities, adhere to its brand concept, and fulfill its social responsibilities as a corporate citizen to promote the harmonious social development.
