OREANDA-NEWS. May 12, 2012. Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has charged the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade and the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry to create a modernized, integrated state program for energy efficiency.  Prime Minister announced respective commission during a Cabinet session.

"Increasing energy efficiency and energy conservation becomes a strategic line of development of economy and social sector," Mykola Azarov underlined.

PM stressed the need to intensify government incentives for energy efficiency projects in all sectors of the economy, businesses of any property. At that he noted such support is already happening: the state finances or co-funded energy efficiency measures and projects and also provide tax benefits and privileges towards energy efficient technologies.

However, now "there are many programs, but a little progress."

"Therefore, it is time to review our approaches, to refuse that "stalling" and to focus on successful solutions," said Mykola Azarov.

The Head of Government stressed "just energy efficiency - is the only possible basis of the domestic industry modernization."
