Seventh China Baosteel Environmental Awards Announced
OREANDA-NEWS. May 11, 2012. The seventh China Baosteel Environmental Awards are announced in Beijing. Three units: Suzhou City of Jiangsu Province, CPCC's Beijing Yanshan Branch and Beijing Yuk Ying School and two individuals, Guiyang municipal Party committee secretary Li Jun and academian of Chinese Academy of Engineering Li Wenhua obtain this year's "China Baosteel Environmental Awards". 20 units and individuals from Datong City of Shanxi Province, Feicheng City of Shandong Province, Anji County of Zhejiang Province gain "China Baosteel Environmental Awards", reported the press-centre of Baosteel.
China Baosteel Environmental Award is the highest social reward in the field of environmental protection in China. Formerly known as "China Environmental Award", it was established in 2000 by China Environmental Protection Foundation. In 2007, to support China's environmental protection cause and demonstrate corporate social responsibility in the field of environmental protection, Baosteel donated 50 million yuan to the China Environmental Protection Foundation, for carrying out "China Environmental Awards" related environmental public welfare activities. In recognition of Baosteel's outstanding achievements in environmental protection and support for public welfare, with the approval of the China Environmental Awards Organizing Committee, the word "Baosteel" is especially put in the award title.
With "changing developmental mode and building ecological civilization" as the theme, the seventh "China Baosteel Environmental Awards" are selected from five aspects: environmental management, urban environment, corporate environmental protection, ecological protection, environmental protection propaganda.
