OREANDA-NEWS. May 11, 2012. IBA held a number of training sessions organized by the High-Tech Park, the Belarus’ Silicon Valley. The series of free workshops in various IT disciplines is intended for higher-education teaching personnel of the specialized departments of Belarusian universities. The trainings are aimed to improve the Belarusian higher education, bring it closer to the real demands of modern IT business, and raise the competitiveness of the Belarusian IT specialists in the local and international labor markets, reported the press-centre of IBA.

IBA conducted the seminar Introduction to Business Intelligence (BI). In his presentation, Eugene Buria, IBA Director of Business Applications Division, spoke about:

Basic concepts and architecture of BI systems
Major players at BI market
BI tools
Analytical business applications
IBA experience in BI systems implementation.

The same day, IBA conducted a seminar on IBM SPSS Statistics and Modeller in statistical analysis and forecasting. Dmitry Severinets, IBA Business Analyst, delivered a presentation on:

Introduction to IBM SPSS. Fundamentals of intellectual and statistical analysis of data (Data Mining)

IBM SPSS Statistics and Modeler

Using IBM SPSS to conduct scoring, improve efficiency of marketing campaigns, and combat customer attrition.

IBA held a training on CALS/PDM/PLM systems. The participants learned more about integrated system of product development and its components:

System of product lifecycle management (PDM / PLM) based on PTC Windchill software to manage data and business processes

CAD / CAM / CAE systems based on PTC CREO (Pro / ENGINEER), a universal scalable high-level system of computer-aided design (CAD) that uses 3D-technology

System of document dynamic publishing based on PTC Arbortext & IsoDraw

System of automation of mathematical and engineering calculations based on PTC Mathcad

Data visualization system based on PTC ProductView.

More than 30 teachers of Belarusian higher educational institutions attended the workshops.
