According to the unaudited data for the first quarter of 2012, the profit before provisions and taxes of Ukio bankas Group amounted to LTL 7.3 million (during the same period of 2011 a loss of LTL 1.6 million was incurred), the profit before provisions and taxes of Ukio bankas amounted to LTL 4.6 million (during first quarter of 2011 a loss of LTL 4.2 was incurred). Because of the provision expenses, Ukio bankas Group activity result for the first quarter of 2012 is a net loss of LTL 44.3 million , Ukio bankas activity result is a net loss of LTL 44.6 million, reported the press-centre of Ukio Bankas. 

In the first quarter of 2012 Ukio bankas formed LTL 50 million provisions for the impairment of loans to real estate developers that are not individually impaired but are collectively assessed for the impairment. Ukio bankas and Ukio bankas Group constantly complied with all prudential requirements with a significant cushion. As at 31 March 2012, capital adequacy ratio of Ukio bankas Group was 13.51%, liquidity ratio – 39.95%.

“During the first quarter of this year Ukio bankas Group retained the positive trend of activities and growth of main income items:  as compared to the same period of previous year, income of the Ukio bankas Group increased by 23%, of which net interest income increased by 62%”, - Gintaras Ugianskis, the Chairman of the Board of Ukio bankas, said.

Ukio bankas Group consists of Ukio bankas and its subsidiaries Ukio banko lizingas, Ukio banko investiciju valdymas, Ukio banko rizikos kapitalo valdymas, Investicinio turto valdymas, Bonum Publicum, Turto valdymo paslaugos, Trade Project, and Eastern Europe Development Fund. UAB Ukio banko rizikos kapitalo valdymas holds 100% stake in RAB Ukio bank lizing.

For over twenty years, Ukio bankas is Lithuania’s first commercial bank providing reliable services via its own wide client service network, with 60 units all over the country. This year Ukio bankas has opened a new client service unit in Kaunas old town, two more units (in Kaunas and Mazeikiai) were relocated to more convenient locations for clients.

Furthermore, Ukio bankas payment cards are accepted at 270 ATMs of the joint network. At the beginning of this year, when the cooperation agreement with Lietuvos pastas was signed, the payment cards can be serviced in 28 units of Lietuvos pastas.
