OREANDA-NEWS. May 10, 2012. The Ministry of Infrastructure continues to implement a set of measures to complete a goal set by the Vice Prime Minister - Minister of Infrastructure Borys Kolesnikov to increase volumes of transportations by river transport. In particular, now the Ministry is actively working towards reducing the burden on shipowners relative to levying the duties that should stimulate the development of river traffic.

This was informed by the Director of the Department State Policy in the field of marine and river transport of the Ministry of Infrastructure, Volodymyr Sevryukov during a video conference with regions in the Communication Center of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

The Ministry of Infrastructure is also working towards improvement of the tariff policy of river traffic.

As noted Volodymyr Sevryukov, as a result of such works the monetary burden on a shipowner during exercise of river transportations should be reduced approximately by half.
