OREANDA-NEWS. May 10, 2012. China’s prominent rating agency Dagong Global Credit Rating Co., Ltd. has assigned sovereign credit ratings to Belarus, the Finance Ministry of Belarus said in a statement Thursday.

Belarus has received “BB+ rating” for local currency liabilities, “BB-“ for foreign currency Liabilities; Outlook Stable.

The decision was taken following Dagong analysts’ work in Belarus in February 2012. Belarus signed a contract with China’s Dagong in November 2011.

The government hopes that the new credit rating will pave the wave for Belarus to financial markets of South-Eastern Asia, the Finance Ministry said.
