OREANDA-NEWS. May 3, 2012. The works, which have been interrupted in October 2011 because of blocking of the personnel’s access to the site, are resumed on the site of Kudankulam NPP constructed with participation of JSC "Atomstroyexport", a company of the State Corporation "Rosatom".

Complete assessment of the equipment and definition of the list and schedule of the required works are currently performed. According to results of the assessment of the equipment, necessary works on adjustment of the main process equipment will be outlined, including the works on running of all main circulation pumps. A ultimate goal of these works is to finalize the stage of the second inspection of the equipment at Unit 1 and obtain permit from the Atomic Energy Regulatory Board of India (AERB) for fuel loading.

Joint-Stock Company "Atomstroyexport" (JSC ASE), for the fulfillment of the Intergovernmental Agreement, is performing works on construction of the first phase of Kudankulam NPP in India. The scope of JSC "Atomstroyexport" obligations includes according to the signed contracts: development of the Technical Design and working documentation, architectural supervision over construction of the NPP buildings and structures within the design scope, delivery of the equipment and materials from Russia and third countries, technical support during NPP erection and commissioning, training of the operation and maintenance personnel in Russia. The Customer – Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) – performs construction, erection and pre-commissioning works on the NPP site and also commissioning of the plant.
