OREANDA-NEWS. May 03, 2012. The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has adopted the Regulation "Some aspects of commercial (by means of instrument) the calculation of natural gas", the developer of which is the National Commission that performs state regulation in the energy sector.

The main provisions of referred Regulation are:

a) development and approval by July 1, 2012 of schedules for equipment apartments and private houses in which  people reside with gas meters;

b) taking steps to equip gas meters in full apartments and private houses in which people reside, in two stages:

- Until 1 January 2016 - if the natural gas is used for water heating and cooking;

- Until 1 January 2018 - if the natural gas is used only for the cooking;

c) carrying out with involvement national and local mass media to explanatory work on the feasibility and effectiveness of accounting used by the population of natural gas using gas meters.

Such Regulation made to create appropriate conditions for the implementation of the Law of Ukraine "On the commercial accounting of natural gas."

Today, according to the requirements of the mentioned Law have already provided absolute metering of natural gas consumption by a population where gas is used comprehensively, including heating.

In the result of implementation of this Regulation will be:
- compliance with the Law of Ukraine "On the commercial accounting of natural gas";
- absolute accounting of gas consumption by the population;
- encouraging people to economical use of natural gas.
