OREANDA-NEWS.  May 03, 2012. In the end of April the first contest for young singers, "Juniors’ Voices" ("Junioru balsis"), will take place in Liepaja as part of the JuniorBank educational programme for pupils, reported the press-centre of PrivatBank.

The first song contest as part of the bank’s new project, "Juniors’ Voices", will be held in Liepaja on 27 – 28 April. In contrast to professional music contests, any pupil can take part in "Juniors’ Voices". The contest winners will receive cash prizes, and the main prize is the possibility to record one’ song in a professional studio.

"Opening a new AS "PrivatBank" branch in Liepaja, we decided to support the great idea of the City Youth Employment Centre and Baata trade and recreation centre to organize a junior song contest," says Mykolay Koev, a Member of AS "PrivatBank" Board. "Latvia is a country where people like singing and can sing, therefore supporting young talents will become a new area of activities of our educational programme for children, JuniorBank.

In order to participate in "Juniors’ Voices", one should only open for a child a free Junior’s bank card. The Junior song contest will be held for three age categories – 7 to 10 years, 11 to 14 years, and for senior high school students aged 15 to 17. Every participant of "Juniors’ Voices" will receive a contest diploma and a sweet prize.

The JuniorBank educational programme for pupils was launched in 2009 in Ukraine, and is currently operating in Ukraine, Russia, Georgia, and Latvia, uniting more than 325 000 pupils. As part of this project PrivatBank not only provides the possibility to undergo free practical training in financial services for children and teenagers but also supports the sports movement, cultural projects and healthy lifestyle programmes for pupils.
