Belarus Posts 0.8% Inflation for March First Two Weeks

The largest increase in retail prices was registered with bananas (13.8%), fresh cabbages (13%), fresh cucumbers (12.5%), potatoes (11%), condensed milk with sugar (9.6%), beer, carrots (4.7%), fresh tomatoes (3.8%), boneless beef (3.2%), vodka (2.4%), wheat flour, smoked sausages, pork and beef (except for boneless meat), tea, tobaccos, soft beverages (1-1.5%), medications (4.3%), kitchen dishes (1.9%), cotton fabrics (1.5%), higher education fees (19.2%), medical services (4.4%), household services (4.1%), healthcare vacations (3.7%).
As previously reported, Belarus saw the consumer price index grow 108.7% in 2011, although the initial forecast for 2011 stood at 7.5%-8.5%.
