Aircraft Fuel Hydrants Arrive in Kenya from Italy
OREANDA-NEWS. April 28, 2012. Volga-Dnepr Airlines has delivered two hydrant dispensers for aircraft refueling from Ankona in Italy to Nairobi, Kenya, onboard one of its IL-76TD-90VD freighters.
Hydrant dispensers are mobile stations designed for aircraft refueling and each piece of equipment weighs some five tons and is over seven metres in length. The loading operation was assisted by aircraft winches as the fuel hydrants were driven onto the aircraft under their own power.
The delivery was on behalf of UK charter specialists, Chartersphere, a long-term partner of Volga-Dnepr. Alexander Kartashev, Volga-Dnepr Airlines’ Engineering and Logistics Manager, said: “Chartersphere is an important customer for us and through our working relationship, its representatives are closely involved in all aspects of shipment planning, preparation and performance. Their assistance and support is important to us, particularly in terms of preparing the cargo for carriage. We look forward to working with the Chartersphere team again very soon.”
