Officers of FAS Met with Representatives of Foreign Companies
OREANDA-NEWS. April 28, 2012. Upon an initiative of Ernst&Young LLC, officers of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) had a meeting with representatives of foreign companies – members of Foreign Investment Advisory Council in Russia, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.
The Head of FAS Department for Control over Foreign Investments, Svetlana Levchenko, made a presentation about changes in Russian competition law due to adopting the third antimonopoly package of amendments, and also described the main provisions of the Federal Law “On Procedures for Foreign Investments in Economic Entities of Strategic Importance for National Defence and State Security”.
The Head of FAS Department for Administrative Reform and Control over Fee-Based Public Services, Lyudmila Solontsova, the Head of FAS Department for Control over Chemical Industry and Argo-Industrial Complex, Mikhail Fedorchenko, and the Head of a unit of FAS Legal Department, Alexander Lokotilov, also took part in the meeting, where they answered questions from business community. The discussion focused mainly on enforcement of No.57 Federal Law and some Article of the Federal Law “On Protection of Competition”.
“Such meetings enable representatives of public authorities to explain the position of the state and the norms of Russian laws, and help representatives of foreign companies operating in Russia better understand the current national law in Russia aimed at protecting competition on domestic market”, pointed out the Head of FAS Department for Control over Foreign Investments, Svetlana Levchenko.
