With the Chinese traffic situation getting worse and worse, along with the emissions situation the Chinese government is giving some serious thought to Smart Networks that will allow cars to interact with their surroundings. The majority of Chinese traffic jams are due to driver error, people being too eager to jump lanes as soon as one lane starts moving, or pulling some crazy stunts like driving down the hard shoulder to undertake. Chery imagines a future where we work like ants to overcome traffic issues by working as a team, rather than an individual.

The Ant concept allows cars to link together in a chain to maximize fuel efficiency and avoid traffic jams, presumably they would break apart for traffic lights and junctions to avoid massive tailbacks as a 1000 car train moves through a 30 second green light. Although the concept is far out design wise, the ideas behind the car are actually spot on, a shame it will take a long time before we actually see something like this on Chinese roads.
