Ingosstrakh Paid 2,2 mn Rubles due to Theft of Available Funds
OREANDA-NEWS. April 27, 2012. Ingosstrakh Insurance Company has made an insurance indemnity to the customer, one of the largest Russian banks, under the insurance policy of valuable assets subsequent to theft of monetary funds by malefactors in one of the bank’s supplementary offices, reported the press-centre of Ingosstrakh.
On the night of February 6 this year, an unidentified person intruded into the premises of the cash operating unit of the Bank’s supplementary office in Tula, broke the floor of the bank’s premises from the basement, cracked the safe, and stole cash assets of the bank.
Law enforcement authorities launched criminal proceedings subject to Clause 158 (Section b Part 4) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (large-scale theft); investigation thereof is carried on.
According to Dmitry Shaposhnikov, Deputy Head of Financial Institution Insurance of Ingosstrakh Insurance Company, both the number of bank robberies and stolen amounts have rapidly increased over the last two years. Such losses incurred by banks can be compensated by insurance companies.
