OREANDA-NEWS. April 27, 2012. EBRD Director for North Caucasus, Moldova and Belarus Paul -Henri Forestier stated this at a meeting with Vice-Premier, Minister of Economy Valeriu Lazar, the ministry of economy informs.

The EBRD Director showed interest of the banks to the program of modernization of the state enterprise “Railway of Moldova” and made the implementation of this program dependent on the tariff policy of the company. The necessary technical aid would be attracted to achieve cost savings and improve competitiveness of the enterprise, he said. As Valeiru Lazar stressed, this investment project is important to be accompanies by restructuring of the company and promoting non-discriminating and transparent tariff policy.

New investment opportunities in the country will appear when amendments are approved to restructure some state-capital companies and either sell them or create on their basis the public and private partnership enterprises, the head of the Ministry clarified.

The matter concerns public assets in pharmaceutical, cosmetic, tobacco and wine-making companies, trade enterprises and such infrastructure companies as electricity distributors, the Chisinau Airport International, the Railway of Moldova. Valeriu Lazar and Paul -Henri Forestier discussed implementation of already launched projects backed by EBRD. The head of the Minsitry of Economy stressed how important are for Moldova MoSEFF and MoREFF projects aimed at enhancing energy efficiency of companies of our country.
