OREANDA-NEWS. April 27, 2012. For the national economy to develop successfully, it is necessary to create the appropriate incentives for business and give attention to the development of high-tech industries, President Viktor Yanukovych said at meeting of the Committee on Economic Reforms.

"Since the declaration of deep modernization policy, we have performed a number of important tasks to stabilize the economy, form a new legal framework, and improve social standards. However, it is obvious that the key to real progress in the real economy," he said.

The President said that only modern enterprises, productive work, fair wages, and stable jobs would make the national economy effective.

In this context the President pointed to the importance of the Government creating motivations for the development of entrepreneurship and investment in Ukraine.

The President drew particular attention to the need for active development of a number of leading industries with strong technological and professional potential, such as aerospace, engineering, military, mining, and metallurgy.

According to the President, science also plays important role in the development of the real economy. "If there is innovation and progress, there will be the real economy with new products and new technologies," he stressed.

The President also pointed to the need for serious dialogue between business and government on the effective policy of import substitution, market expansion, and capacity building of the domestic market.
