OREANDA-NEWS. April 26, 2012. Central Bank of Uzbekistan organized a business forum in line with the state programme “The Year of Family” to discuss issues of improving life conditions of populations, developing small and private businesses, attracting women and college graduates to entrepreneurship.

The event has been organized by the Prosecutor-General’s Office, Women’s Committee, Center Ijtimoiy Fikr, Youth Public Movement Kamolot, Center for secondary professional education, Mahalla Foundation and commercial banks. The event was aimed at encouraging and stimulating business activities.

During the meeting, participants discussed role of small business in strengthening family, provided state preferences to development of small businesses, terms of issuing banking loans to finance business plans of women and college graduates.

It was stated that it is planned to issue loans for 4.5 trillion soums to support businesses, of which over 843 billion soums will be microloans.

At allocation of loans, the special attention to issues of crediting business projects directed at creating modern capacities based on new technologies, development of family businesses and craftsmanship, support women initiatives and college graduates.

It is planned that 28.3 billion will be allocated to financing business plans of college graduates and 365 billion soums to businesswomen.

In the first quarter of 2011, the commercial banks of Uzbekistan issued 1.185 trillion soums to support small and private businesses, which is 1.4 times more year-on-year. Some 97.9 billion soums were allocated to businesswomen and 9.6 billion soums to college graduates, which is 1.3 and 2.3 times more year-on-year respectively.
