OREANDA-NEWS. April 26, 2012. The UNDP Project “Local Governance Support: Participation and Partnership” (LGSP) held a meeting with the representatives of Uzbektourism, Management of preserves of Ministry of Agriculture and Water Management, the Resorts Management department of the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan, mass media and heads of sanatorium of Zaamin district of Jizzakh region.

The event was aimed at presenting tourism potential of Zaamin and discussing results of conducted works within the UNDP project on preparation of Zaamin tourism zone to new season.

The UNDP project, implemented with the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan and at assistance of the Jizzakh regional administration, implements complex of works on realization of tourism and investment potential of Zaamin district.

In particular, the UNDP project conducts work on strengthening potential of guest houses, guides, and development of tourism routes, cultural-entertainment programmes, and logistic issues. It is planned to install road signs and information boards along tourism routes, natural sights and archeological monuments by the end of May. Information materials, souvenirs and promo materials for popularization of Zaamin zone are developed.

It is worth to mention that these works are conducted in line with the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan “Programme on targeted measures on development of tourism and increasing export potential of services of Jizzakh regions for 2011-2012.

The UNDP project developed brand and marketing strategy, logotype and slogan to strengthen of Zaamin district its tourism potential, as well as investment proposals.

During the event, which was held on the eve of tourism season, participants familiarized with conducted works, directed at preparing Zaamin to new season. They also discussed development of tourism with participation of local communities. Participants received information on created conditions in guest houses in Zaaming district, tourism routes, guides, etc.

Tourism firms received information on created conditions at Zaamin, Urukli and Sharshara sanatoriums, treatment and rest of tourists, etc.
