OREANDA-NEWS. April 26, 2012. The World Bank is planning to hold a Regional Conference on flaring gas reduction, organized by the Global Gas Flaring Reduction (GGFR) Partnership in cooperation with the NHC Uzbekneftegaz (UNG). The сonference workshop will take place in Tashkent on 14 June 2012.

The regional сconference will bring together high-level representatives of governments and national oil companies from Europe and Central Asia region, as well as international oil and gas companies, and international financial organizations, to discuss the issues and options in flaring and venting reduction. The agenda of this event will be finalized soon.

The regional conference is also the Annual meeting of the GGFR ECA Regional Coordination Committee (RCC) on gas flaring reduction, established by the Partnership in order to coordinate common efforts and activities of governments and oil companies operating in this region.
National Holding Company Uzbekneftegaz is the GGFR's partner in Uzbekistan. The Ministry of Economy and State Committee for Nature Protection of the Republic of Uzbekistan are also participating in the work of GGFR ECA Regional Coordination Committee.
