Azerbaijan and Jordan Deepen Bilateral Relations
OREANDA-NEWS. April 25, 2012. Jordan advocates for peaceful settlement of Nagorno Garabagh conflict on the basis of international right’s norms and principles, with adherence to territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan.
First Vice Speaker of Jordanian Senate Abdulrauf al Ravabida told the journalists in Baku that Jordan supports Azerbaijan’s rightful position at the negotiations on peaceful settlement of Azerbaijani- Armenian Nagorno Garabagh conflict.
" We stand for peaceful settlement of Nagorno Garabagh conflict on the basis of international right’s norms and principles, with adherence to territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan. Jordan is the peaceful state and follows the position that all the conflicts are solved in a peaceful way with adherence to the states’ territorial integrity",- the Vice speaker said.
He noted that Nagorno Garabagh conflict has remained unsettled for over 20 years in spite of the efforts of international mediators. 20% of Azerbaijani territory is still occupied by military forces of Armenia.
The Jordanian Vice Speaker said that the purpose of the delegation’s visit to Azerbaijan is deepening of bilateral relations at intergovernmental level. In his words, about 30 documents on cooperation in different spheres have been signed between Azerbaijan and Jordan to date.
