OREANDA-NEWS. April 25, 2012. The Center for Researches and Development of the Central Bank and The Savings Banks Foundation for International Cooperation held a training on “Banks to Schools – Schools to Banks” within the frames of “Financial Awareness” project in Bilasuvar Lyceum named after Mubariz Ibrahimov, the National Hero. The key goal of the workshop held on 7-14 April 2012 was to strengthen financial awareness aspects in future curriculums, involve banks to this issue and find out their proposals, reported the press-centre of CBA.

The training was attended by officials of the Ministry of Education and the Institute of Educational Problems, as well as employees of commercial banks and teachers of the Bilasuvar Lyceum. The participants found the workshops by Knuth Boyk, PhD from Germany very interesting.

The workshop delivered presentations on utilization of data on financial awareness, pocket expenses, budget planning, savings, bank products, entrepreneurship and others in teaching of various disciplines, integration of the topics in question to curriculums and educational programs followed by interactive discussions.

The Working Groups, comprised of the Lyceum teachers and commercial bank employees, are planning to develop diverse instruments to be used in boosting financial awareness of the population until current August.

The workshop was summarized with brief information on Financial Awareness Project – one of the strategic targets of the Central Bank. The participants highly appreciated successful results of the workshop and emphasized cooperation of banks and educational institutions to enhance enlightenment of high school students.
