Number of Travellers Insured by Ingosstrakh Exceeds 3,5 mn People
OREANDA-NEWS. April 25, 2012. The number of travellers insured by Ingosstrakh Insurance Company in 2011 has exceeded 3.5 mln people. According to preliminary data, the amount of collected travel insurance premium for the given period equals to about 820 mln roubles, that is 16% more than corresponding indicators of the year 2010. But at the same time more than 15% of insurance premium accrue to the regional branch network of the company, reported the press-centre of Ingosstrakh.
Over 12 months of the previous year, Ingosstrakh Insurance Company paid about 493 mln roubles of travel insurance indemnity.
In 2011, more than 50 thousand insurance claims were settled, including a number of high profile events such as temulence in Turkey, road traffic accidents in Thailand, Turkey and Egypt. The largest payments were made in insurance of medical expenses and against the risks of travel cancellation. Among those there are 80 loss events with indemnification amount exceeding 300 thousand roubles each.
Last year, Ingosstrakh Insurance Company started collaborating with more than 30 tourist organizations, including Non-Governmental Institution “Visa and Accreditation Center of the Olympic Committee of Russia”. Today, about 370 tourist companies are partners of Ingosstrakh Insurance Company, among those there are: “Natalie Tours”, “Tez-Tour”, “TT-Travel”, “PAX”, “Carlson Toursim”, “Neptun”, “MITS”, “Roza Vetrov”, “Balkan Express”, “Russian Express Club”, “Aeroclub”, “UTS”, etc.
The year 2011 for Ingosstrakh Insurance Company is marked by effective interaction with major tour operators governing the tourism market in departure trends, revision of tariff rates for group and individual products, expansion of agent network, attraction of new corporate clients insuring employees during foreign business trips.
In 2011, online retail sales of insurance products were launched; these will be developed and improved in a priority basis following the development of high information technology.
In spite of the signs of crisis in the market, the main tasks resolved by Ingosstrakh Insurance Company specialists are preservation and improvement of the achieved level of customer service for insured persons, and prompt settlement of insurance claims.
