Acron Group Releases 1Q 2012 Operating Results
OREANDA-NEWS. April 25, 2012. Acron’s Board of Directors Chair Alexander Popov comments on the results:
“We have had a very dynamic beginning of 2012. The first quarter operating performance demonstrates that we have been running at a full capacity load, as the demand for our products remains very high, reported the press-centre of Acron.
“Higher ammonia production and processing allowed us to increase the output of nitrogen fertilisers by 8% and complex fertilisers by 7% compared with the first quarter of 2011. This performance stands out against the overall 8% recession in the domestic mineral fertiliser production.
“In the end of the first quarter, we have launched a new urea unit and increased the output to 800,000 tonnes. Now we have a capacity to further increase our nitrogen fertiliser output.
“In the industrial segment, a slight slide in organic compounds output was offset by a rise in non-organic compounds production.
“The price environment in the beginning of the reporting quarter was worse than in the fourth quarter last year due to temporary seasonal factors. However, as early as late March, thanks to a huge spring demand, the world prices for some fertilisers have surpassed their last year’s records and continue to grow. In the first quarter of 2011, the price for our key product, NPK 16-16-16, was sustainably at USD 451 per tonne, which corresponds to the 2011 average.”
