BPS-Sberbank Customer Operations Support Centre Opens in Minsk
OREANDA-NEWS. April 25, 2012. Minsk saw inauguration of BPS-Sberbank's new structural division – Customer Operations Support Centre (COSC) "Central European", reported the press-centre of BPS-Sberbank.
BPS-Sberbank's COSC is the first banking structural division of such type and scale in the Republic of Belarus and subsidiaries of Sberbank of Russia Group. And it is obvious that such a leading-edge project of BPS-Sberbank will soon become an integral part of each large financial organization in the territory of the former USSR.
Establishment of COSC has top importance in the banking sphere. From the viewpoint of the bank's development, it is qualitative transition to a new process organization level when operational function of all branches of the bank is delegated to a specialized centre where every operation is "in the pipeline" in accordance with conveyor method of data processing. The bank's branches, in their turn, can spare time and give more attention to their direct business – sale of banking products and customer servicing.
"It is beyond any doubt that the project will be a success, since the idea of arrangement of standard similar type operations into one flow is based on the principles of professional approach, logic and reasonability", told Vasili Matyushevski, Chairman of the Board of BPS-Sberbank. "Creation of COSC was promoted by main principles of centralization, optimization and standardization of back office and middle office functions. Practically, it will bring a range of benefits related to improvement of labour efficiency, service quality and customer content. Therefore, we will be able to reduce operational risks and strengthen the general risk management system of the bank. Naturally, this will have a positive influence on operation of front offices and on our brand".
Even today, reasonability of transfer to such new operational model is obvious. Earlier, labour costs for BPS-Sberbank in this area made 1,046 full-employment staff units, while now COSC employs 503 people.
COSC comprises 5 divisions and the settlement centre.
