OREANDA-NEWS. April 23, 2012. The Federal Arbitration Court of the Povolzhie District pronounced legitimacy of the determination issued by the Office of the Federal Antimonopoly Service in the Saratov Region (Saratov OFAS Russia) to fine “Saratov Airlines” OJSC 1.8 million Rubles, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

In February 2011, Saratov OFAS Russia found that “Saratov Airlines” OJSC violated Part 1 Article 10 of the Federal Law “On Protection of Competition”. The air carrier violated the law by fixing special tariffs for economy class in a regular passenger flight Saratov – Moscow – Saratov: one-way fare - 2000, 2800 and 3500 Rubles, return fare - 3500 and 4500 Rubles.

Saratov OFAS Russia fined “Saratov Airlines” OJSC 1.8 million Rubles.

Saratov Regional Arbitration Court and the 12th Arbitration Appeal Court supported the position of the antimonopoly body.

In February 2012, Saratov OFAS Russia was informed that “Saratov Airlines” OJSC paid the fine in full.

In April 2012, the air carrier approached the Federal Arbitration Court of the Povolzhie District. However, the Court upheld the rulings of the Court of First Instance and the Appeal Court.
“Investigating the case, we established that different tariffs are applied under the same conditions (the same procedures for booking and buying airline tickets, the same conditions for returning the air tickets, the same discounts for children, etc.) The tariffs are applied to the same services of regular air transportation of passengers on Saratov – Moscow – Saratov route”, commented Deputy Head of Saratov OFAS Russia, Lyudmila Borisova.
