OREANDA-NEWS. April 20, 2012. Hoya Corporation (“HOYA”) today announced that one of the Company’s Representative Executive Officers will retire.

1. Name and title of Representative Executive Officer to be retired

Mr. Hiroshi Hamada, Director, Representative Executive Officer and COO

2. Reason of retirement

Mr. Hamada decided to retire the position as Director and Executive Officer of HOYA because the post merger integration with Pentax operations, one of the major challenges of HOYA in recent years, has completed and he desired to take a challenge to new opportunities outside HOYA.

3. Date of retirement (scheduled)

Upon expiration of his term of office at the end of the Company’s 74th Ordinary General Meeting of Shareholders scheduled in the middle of June, 2012.
