OREANDA-NEWS. April 19, 2012. The agreement was achieved by co-chairmen of Moldovan-Russian intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation Vice-Premier, Minister of Economy of Moldova Valeriu Lazar and Vice-Premier of RF Dmitry Rogozin.

During their first meeting they discussed key problems of cooperation between the two states and agreed to hold the next sitting of the Commission in the second half of 2012. They also discussed interaction in the energy and gas sector and outlooks of joint projects. Valeriu Lazar and Dmitry Rogozin appreciated progress of bilateral trade between Moldova and Russia which made up USD2 bln. including Transdniestria.

They supported further intensification of bilateral cooperation and implementation of huge investment projects in the region. As soon as the new government of Russia is formed and the work of the intergovernmental commission becomes more intense the parties will start solving the most difficult problems in the energy sector, migration, etc, Dmitry Rogozin has said at a joint briefing.

He has stressed that he is accompanied by representatives of the Russian business during his visit in Moldova and reminded that the Business Council on Cooperation with Moldova has been established in CCI of RF. Dmitry Rogozin has expressed hope that the Council will embraces a number of major businessmen and as coming back to Moscow he will hold a special meeting with members of the Council.
