OREANDA-NEWS. April 19, 2012. A business forum of business circles of Uzbekistan and the Netherlands was held in Tashkent within the visit of the delegation of the Netherlands led by Ronald Keller, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The event devoted to the further expansion of trade and economic and investment cooperation between Uzbekistan and the Netherlands was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The heads of ministries, departments and companies of the two countries responsible for such spheres like foreign economic relations, trade, investment, fuel and energy sector, construction, agriculture, water management, food processing, pharmaceutical, chemical, textile, transport and transport communications, electrical engineering have participated in it.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sh.Tulaganov emphasized that our countries see each other as promising economic partner.

It was noted that Uzbekistan and the Netherlands set favourable trade regime and the trade turnover between states made up USD 100 million in 2011.

There are 36 enterprises in Uzbekistan created with the Netherlands investments.

During the forum, the participants familiarized with perspectives of bilateral cooperation in various sectors of economy, investment potential of Uzbekistan and opportunities of investment cooperation, including within the Navoi free industrial and economic zone.

The Netherlands delegation held talks at several ministries and departments of our country.
