SUEK Reports on New Drilling Record
OREANDA-NEWS. April 18, 2012. Yury Yegorov's team at Tugnui open-pit mine operated by SUEK hit a new world record in drilling. Over the month the team has drilled 41,806 running metres using Pit Viper-271 blasthole drill. The previous record of 37,000 running metres was established in the Kemerovo Region five years ago, reported the press-centre of SUEK.
Overall, the drillers have passed 158,000 running metres by the end of the quarter exceeding the target by 38,000 metres.
"This is a huge success for us all," says Alexei Kibets. "And it was facilitated by synergistic and well-coordinated efforts of the entire workforce engaged at the terminal."
As the team leader Yury Yegorov maintains, another major contribution to the result was made by state-of-the-art equipment, "This requires well-coordinated work both by the machines and the men. Enjoying one's work, understanding the machine, staying on the same wavelength with it are essential. Yet, the most important element is the people working by your side. You won't get results just by yourself."
