OREANDA-NEWS. April 16, 2012. Fujitsu today announced its support for Satsumasendai City, Kagoshima Prefecture, as the city pursues urban development that leverages the introduction of next-generation energy sources. Fujitsu will also participate in the Satsumasendai City Next-Generation Energy Vision Development Committee, which the city recently established.

The new committee—which brings together companies, institutions and universities based in Satsumasendai City—aims to develop a next-generation energy vision that will bring about sustainable economic development for the city.

In addition to supporting the formulation of the vision through a variety of proposals that take advantage of ICT, Fujitsu will also actively participate in projects that are under consideration by the city, such as smart grid field trials. This is in order to contribute to the realization of a smart community in Satsumasendai City.
