Wisco Ultrathin High Strength Weathering Steel Succeeds in Mold Test
OREANDA-NEWS. April 16, 2012. Good news came from China International Marine Containers (CIMC) that Wisco made 1.2mm high strength container weathering steel WJX750-NH succeeded in mold test at the first attempt, reported the press-centre of Wisco.
Ultrathin high strength weathering steel WJX750-NH is mainly used for North America high strength container which demands ultrathin dimension, high strength, and high weather resistance as well as well performance of molding, coating and welding for the steel.
CIMC has ever been purchasing high strength cold rolling steel from a foreign company, due to the high purchase cost and long procurement period, CIMC has been restricted to export this series of containers. After knowing the difficulty faced by CIMC, Wisco researchers immediately set up a task force with staff from production, marketing, quality inspection departments to tackle technical problems.
Through half a year’s effort, Wisco developed ultrathin series of high strength container weathering steel WJX750-NH. In the impact molding test conducted at CIMC, the steel represented all indexes far superior to those of imported one and won high evaluation from CIMC technical section.
