Government of Tatarstan Changed Procedures for Calculating Land Rent
OREANDA-NEWS. April 13, 2012. The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) found that the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan violated the antimonopoly law by fixing different correcting coefficients to land tax percentage rate, used to calculate the rent for retail trade facilities, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.
The case was initiated upon complaints from small businesses against actions of the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan, determining the procedures for calculating the rent for land plots. Such actions created discriminatory conditions for entrepreneurs involved in small retail trade through kiosks.
The FAS Commission established that according to the procedures for calculating the rent, approved by the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan, the owners of kiosks paid 6.5 times more that owners of standalone stores.
In course of the case investigation, the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan voluntarily eliminated the violation by fixing the same correcting coefficient to determine the land rent for retail trade facilities.
