Kashagan Project Supports Veterans and Invalids in Atyrau Region
OREANDA-NEWS. April 12, 2012. North Caspian Operating Company B.V. (NCOC), together with the agent company Agip KCO,, hosted a ceremony today to hand over food coupons to about 600 veterans and disabled people of Atyrau Region under the Consortium's Sponsorship & Donations (S&D) programme.
Opening the event, Stakeholder Relations General Manager Erikzhan Issengaliyev said: "We are handing over today four support packages to veterans and disabled people in Atyrau Region. This is a sign of the Consortium's continued commitment to supporting local communities in the regions we operate. I am proud to announce that in 2011 the Consortium sponsored 104 S&D projects, with a total value of about 213 mln tenge. We expect to spend a similar amount this year as well."
During the ceremony on 4th April, the Consortium handed over food coupons to:
200 food coupons to disabled people of Makat District; each coupon has a value of 7, 400 tenge;
150 food coupons to disabled people of Atyrau; each coupon has a value of 9, 000 tenge;
120 food coupons to a veteran's society in Balykshy and few veterans in Atyrau; each coupon has a value of 7, 500 tenge;
100 food coupons to disabled people in Balykshy, each coupon has a value of 8,700 tenge
The consortium's S&D programme is focused on economic sustainability and welfare, health, education, culture, cultural heritage, sports and the help to the underprivileged. Funds are equally split between Atyrau and Mangistau oblasts.
The event was attended by representatives of the Atyrau Akimat, NCOC and Agip KCO.
