OREANDA-NEWS. April 12, 2012. To restore the cattle livestock in Ukraine the Government is going to support both a large commodity production as well as small farms. This was stated by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov during his working trip to the Kyiv region.

"Now we are accumulating measures to support livestock development. We have set ourselves the task to reverse trend of reduction in cattle livestock. Now the best is combination of two directions: support for large producers of meat, and simultaneously support for farmers," Mykola Azarov underlined.

At the same time, while visiting the Kishchenko’s family farm in the Kyiv region, Mykola Azarov informed that the Government is currently developing a series of measures aimed at support small farming concerning increase of livestock of cows. In particular, these measures provide a system of payments to farmers.

"For example, you are keeping a calf in one's own farm, it has an inventory number, if you have maintained it half a year - have come to the village council and got 500 UAH. If you have maintained it another six months - get another 500 UAH" Mykola Azarov underlined.

Prime Minister has urged farmers to join in agricultural service and production cooperatives, as it allows them to buy cheaper of farm machinery, fertilizers, seeds, feeds, etc., as well as it will simplify the procedure for granting state aid.

Thus, Mykola Azarov has emphasized the people of labour primarily should be getting public assistance: "You work and if only I were not come to you and ask you which you need help, you would have continued to work. But others on the contrary are coming and asking: "Give." We primarily will support to people like you."
