Aeroflot Carries Football Fans to Euro-2012 for Free
OREANDA-NEWS. April 12, 2012. Aeroflot CEO Vitaly Saveliev and Sergey Fursenko, President of the Russian Football Union agreed upon free transportation for the upcoming 2012 UEFA European Football Championship, reported the press-centre of Aeroflot.
The programme will kick off in Poland where the Russia national football team will play its first matches at the Championship and then will also include Ukraine. Aeroflot provides one complimentary flight by comfortable A320 for football fans from Moscow to Warsaw on 07 June and from Warsaw to Moscow on 17 June. Moreover, following the request from the Russian Football Union, Aeroflot operates two additional flights at a special price on the same dates.
Depending on the progress of the Russia national team Aeroflot can consider still more additional flights to be arranged. Each time the team reaches a higher level of the Competition Aeroflot will operate one free flight and one flight at a beneficial price.
Aeroflot CEO Vitaly Saveliev said at the signing ceremony that “For complimentary transportation Aeroflot selected a formula to stimulate our national team. Aeroflot has a long established tradition of supporting different kinds of sport including football. Contributing to global sport events Aeroflot has accumulated substantial experience and earned high reputation. I’m sure that our football fans will be pleased with the level of service and our football players will be inspired by support from their compatriots. This is an excellent check for Aeroflot on the eve of the 2012 Summer Olympics in London and certainly the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi”.
