OREANDA-NEWS. April 11, 2012. Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko held a working meeting with representatives of companies of cargo owner. At the meeting it has been raised issues facing Cargo in transit products by rail.

Mr. Poroshenko informed participants of the meeting that on behalf of Prime Minister of Ukraine it has been created a special commission that examined the validity of cost increases in cargo transport products by rail, which at the beginning of this year increased by 30-50%. One of the factors which influenced the growth, according to the Minister - is used in the calculations for the transport of goods in rail cars, allocated to balance based on state-owned enterprises, charging order specified for cargo in "own cars."

"This has led to increased cost of transport to 10-14% due to the addition to the tariff charges for transportation of "own cars" in the empty state. Another factor of the rise of the cost of transportation, as established committee is to bring in the traffic 6-private forwarding companies which are used in the calculation of additional step-up ratio of 1.3 and charge for the forwarding of 0.3%", - Mr. Poroshenko stated.

The sides discussed ways to address the situation. The Minister said that, the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade will prepare the appropriate draft orders of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and will submit them to the Government to solve problems.

"It is necessary to simplify the procedure for concluding agreements on freight by rail and develop a transparent system of tariff formation", - Petro Poroshenko said.
