Kaliningrad Port's First-Quarter Throughput Down 6.9%
OREANDA-NEWS. April 10, 2012. Handling of cargo by JSC Kaliningrad Sea Commercial Port (KSCP, KMTP) in January-March of 2012 fell 6.9 percent year-over-year to 822,000 tons, the company said on Tuesday.
In the reporting period, shipments of ferrous metal decreased by 14.8% to 295,900 tons, oil products exports fell 10.7% to 134,000 tons, while container traffic rose 25.64% to 45,150 TEUs, the port statistics said.
JSC Kaliningrad Sea Commercial Port is the largest enterprise of the regional port complex. The port is a gateway for intermodal traffic and major export / import flows passing through the region. In 2011, cargo throughput at the port of Kaliningrad rose by 18.4% year-over-year to 3,630,000 tons.
