OREANDA-NEWS. April 09, 2012. The actions undertaken to improve the entrepreneurial activity have influenced Moldova's position in the international tops in terms of business environment.

Moldova ranked 81st in the top of the countries having the most favourable business environment, according to an annual report, Doing Business 2012, carried out by the World Bank. Thus, the country went up by 18 positions against the previous year, the Economics Ministry has said.

According to this report, Moldova has significantly advanced in fields like: launch of new businesses, issuance of credits, contracts' fulfilment and regulation of insolvency procedures.

The dynamic analysis of the development of small and middle-sized enterprises, accounting for 97.7 per cent of the total number of Moldovan enterprises, shows a stable growth in this sector, due to the improvement of the business environment and to the enhancement of the regulations in the field of small and middle-sized enterprises.

The small and middle-sized enterprises account for 28.3 per cent of the Moldovan GDP. This sector is the main provider of new jobs, fostering the country's economic growth. The actions of the Moldovan government are focused on the problems faced by the small entrepreneurs. Thus, all the initiatives are assessed from the view point of the small enterprises' development.
