President of JSC IRKUT Corporation Alexey Fedorov was awarded with the Order of Honour by the Decree of the President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev dated April 2, 2012 #370 for an important contribution in development and manufacturing of special equipment and machinery, for strengthening the State defence and many years of diligent work for the country.

Alexey Fedorov was born on April 14, 1952 in Ulan-Ude. Graduated from the Irkutsk Polytechnic Institute (now National Research Irkutsk State Technical University). In 1974 began his career at the Irkutsk Aviation Plant taking up posts from Design-engineer to Director General.

From 1989 to 1997 in order he took up post of Chief Engineer and Director General of the Irkutsk Aviation Industrial Association (IAIA). In 1997-1998 – Director General of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise AVPK “Sukhoi”.

From 1998 to 2005 headed IAIA (since 2002, named as JSC IRKUT Corporation). From 2004 to 2007 - Director General, Designer General of FSUE Russian Aircraft Corporation “MiG”. From 2006 to 2011 President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of JSC United Aircraft Corporation. Since 2011 – President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of JSC IRKUT Corporation.

He was awarded with the Order for Merit to the Fatherland IV class (2004) and the Order of Honour (1998).
