OREANDA-NEWS. April 06, 2012. The Olympus group’s New generation System Camera "OLYMPUS PEN E-P3," Digital Linear PCM Recorder "Linear PCM Recorder LS-100," and industrial videoscope "IPLEX UltraLite" won the internationally prestigious red dot design award at product design 2012.

The red dot design award (http://www.red-dot.de) is one of the top international design prizes given to exceptional designs. It covers designs that have been commercialized within the past two years, with products being judged based on nine criteria, including design innovation, functionality, ergonomics, ecology, and durability. The Olympus group's three winning products were selected from among 4,515 international entries. Olympus has now won the award three years in a row.

OLYMPUS PEN E-P3
 This interchangeable lens type digital camera was released as the top model of the third generation in the OLYMPUS PEN series. It is a new generation system camera featuring a high-quality design, a compact body, and exceptional photographic definition. It delivers high speed, high sensitivity, and high quality with TruePic VI, a new image-processing engine. Users can also enjoy its design geared toward photography style thanks to the camera's full-metal body and detachable grip.

Linear PCM Recorder LS-100
 This linear PCM recorder supports uncompressed digital audio recording. It delivers clear acoustic quality with its high-performance directional microphone and a high acoustic pressure resistance of 140dBspl, which will not clip even during loud live performances. It also supports multitrack recording, which enables multiple audio tracks to be recorded separately, and is handy for sound source editing.

IPLEX UltraLite
 The Olympus's first handy-type industrial videoscope, in a 3.7-inch LCD monitor built-in all-in-one design. Thanks to its unique palm-size ergonomic design, you feel minimum strain on your arm during your inspection, and at the same time accommodates operation in a harsh environment ensured by compliance with IP55.
