OREANDA-NEWS. April 06, 2012. In March 2012, the Izykhsky open-pit mine commissioned a new Liebherr loader. The machine was custom-made for LLC SUEK-Khakassia. Taking into account the miners' requirements, Liebherr engineers increased the bucket capacity to 6.5 m3, optimized the loader's work equipment specifications, so that the machine is now able to load 55-tonne BelAZ dump trucks. The vehicle was also equipped with an impressive option package, such as an air cleaner, a special protective window-grid, additional lighting. A special 'winter package' was developed for the harsh climate of Khakassia.

"The loader was purchased specifically for loading coals shipped from the loading warehouse complex," noted Alexey Keelin, the executive director of LLC SUEK-Khakassia. "We wanted it to be able to load coals into both road vehicles and railway gondola cars. And effectively move rock mass inside the warehouse complex. Commissioning the Liebrerr machine will help improve safety and labor productivity at the mine."

With the Liebherr loader now operating the number of machinery units at the Izykhsky mine has been optimized. An old EKG-4U excavator and a small-sized Dressta loader equipped with a 3.4 m3 bucket were removed from the production cycle.
