OREANDA-NEWS. April 05, 2012. A contract to carry out pre-construction preparatory work at the site of Belarus's first nuclear power plant at Ostrovets has been signed by the country's Nuclear Station Construction Directorate and Russian primary contractor Atomstroyexport.

A general contract for the construction of the Russian-designed 1200 MWe AES-2006 unit is due to be signed in June 2012 and discussions on production and delivery of long lead-time components are underway.
